Louis Alexandre

The son of a butcher in Ecueil (Marne), as a young man Louis Alexandre attended the school of drawing in Reims and later became a student at the Paris Academy.He learned miniature painting from François Dumont. In 1800 and 1801 he exhibited some works, including a self-portrait, in the Paris Salon. He painted portraits in oils and as miniatures.
