Miniatures from the 19th Century
Catalogue of Miniatures from the 19th Century in the Tansey Collection, 2002
In October 2002 another catalogue was published to accompany the second exhibition in the Bomann-Museum in Celle, which is wholly dedicated to the portrait miniature of the 19th century.
The French and Austrian school, most important centres of continental miniature painting and focal subjects of the Tansey Collection, are introduced and described in extensive texts. The catalogue, which presents 135 attractive pieces including additional information on their provenance and on interesting literature, can be considered a standard work within the scientific field dealing with European miniature painting of the 19th century.
