Video: The World of Miniature Painting

Using the Tansey Collection as an example, the film illustrates the significance and development of the European portrait miniature. The Tansey Foundation team introduces selected objects and provides insights into the fascinating production techniques and special frames used for the miniatures. At the same time, the team describes the challenges relating to researching the collection, photographing it, and presenting it in digital format. Last but not least, the film also introduces the collector couple, Lieselotte and Ernest Tansey, who launched the Tansey Collection and Foundation, and whose wish it was to make the collection accessible to the general public.
