George Lethbridge Saunders

The apparently very varied and eventful life of this English artist can be reconstructed only in part. He exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Society of British Artists between 1829 and 1853. It seems that Saunders left England at the end of the 1830s, after which he lived in Vienna but later emigrated to Richmond, Virginia. He returned to England, probably in around 1851.
