Albert Josef Theer

Albert Josef was one of three sons of the gem cutter, Joseph Theer. In 1820 the family moved from Austrian Silesia to Vienna, where Albert studied in the engraver’s department of the academy. His miniatures and portrait lithographs were publicly exhibited for the first time in 1835. His work is strongly influenced by Moritz Michael Daffinger, whom he often copied.
