Louis-Ami Arlaud-Jurine

Arlaud-Jurine probably enjoyed his artistic training with Liotard in Geneva prior to 1767 and afterwards with Vien in Paris. After a journey to Italy in the years 1774 to 1775, he returned to Geneva, where he became a member of the Société des Arts. In 1778 he married Suzanne Jurine. In 1787 Arlaud-Jurine taught at the public art school in Geneva. He exhibited miniatures there in 1789 and 1792, but in 1792 he moved to London where he participated in the exhibitions at the Royal Academy until 1800. He returned to his home town in 1802 and regularly participated in the art exhibitions from that time onwards, and in 1808 he also exhibited at the Paris Salon.
