Joseph Marie Bouton
The son of the painter Guillaume Gabriel Bouton did his artistic training under his father and later under Cammas. As early as 1776 he exhibited his works in the Academy of Toulouse and won the first prize in perspective in 1782. From 1789 he was a pupil at the Parisian Academy. In 1801 he moved to Montauban and a year later to Spain where he became Court painter to Queen Maria-Louisa in 1805. In 1808 he returned to Paris. From 1791 to 1799 and in 1822, he showed his works in the Salon in Paris, and from 1816 to 1819 in the Royal Academy of London.
