Ignazio Pio Vittoriano Campana
Campana began his artistic career in Turin, where he married his collaborator Maria Cristina Vagliengo in 1773. One year later he moved to Paris, where he rose to the rank of peintre du cabinet of Queen Marie Antoinette. His pupils included not only his wife but also Pierre Fritsche and Nicolas-François Le Magniet, whose works are almost impossible to assess because they were not signed.
