Joseph Einsle

Einsle worked in Augsburg in 1796, married Maria Josepha Wetzel in Göggingen in 1808, and from 1810 onwards, he lived in Konstanz. Later he worked in Freiburg im Breisgau, Lindau, Munich, and Frankfurt am Main. In 1817, he moved back to Augsburg, where he joined the painters’ guild. When Einsle died he left numerous portrait miniatures painted in watercolour on ivory and paper. He was the father of Rosa Antonia Josepha and the brother of Johann Georg, both of whom were also painters. His students included the painter Maria Ellenrieder.
