Georg Desmarées (Marées)

Marées studied painting with van Meytens in Stockholm, where he created oil paintings as well as miniatures in 1724. Later on, he travelled to Amsterdam and also studied at the Academy of Nuremberg. After continuing his studies with Piazetta in Venice, he returned to Nuremberg in 1728, went to Augsburg and finally became court painter to Elector Karl Albrecht.
