Antonio David

Antonio David was a student and assistant of his father, the painter Lodovico Antonio David, and worked as a portrait painter in Rome. It is documented as of 1717 that he was in contact with the “Old Pretender” to the English throne, James Francis Edward Stuart, to whom he became court painter in the early 1730s.
