Johann Jakob Müller
Nothing is known about Müller’s youth or training. He specialised in small-format profile portraits, which he drew in black pencil on white-primed paper or sheets of parchment. He worked in several Swiss cities (St.Gallen, Basel, Zurich, Berne, and Geneva) and in nearby Mulhouse, but also in Frankfurt am Main, and from 1815 onwards in Munich. His sons also became painters.
