Amélie Daubigny, née D'Autel

Amélie Antoinette, born 19 November 1795, was the daughter of the watchmaker Claude Antoine d’Autel and of Louise Madeleine Xavière Hennequin. A student of both Granger and Aubry, she married the miniaturist Pierre Daubigny at Notre-Dame cathedral in Paris on 27 June 1829. She lived with him in rue de Harlay in Paris. Between 1822 and 1844, she exhibited her works at the Paris Salon, and she was awarded a medal at the 1831 exhibition. She also taught miniature painting. She died in Bourg-la-Reine 22 March 1861. (We would like to thank Henry-Noel Canival, Paris, for the additional biographical information.)
